Joel Embiid receiving his 2022-2023 MVP award

The NBA 2022-2023 season is in the https://linktr.ee/elospeaks in the running to award for the most part. With Nikola Jokić leading the MVP race for the majority of the season, it was safe to say that he was coming to win his third straight MVP in a row and make history, but Joel Embiid and the sports media had different plans. Joel Embiid made a surge late in the NBA season to number one in the MVP race and the media were spinning multiple narratives about Nikola Jokić and how he doesn’t deserve to win a third MVP, how his game is boring to watch, how he just stat pads, and how he doesn’t make a deep run in the postseason. Many topics, articles, etc for multiple people were coming up with these narratives to bring down Nikola Jokić and push Joel Embiid to win the award which was shameful if you were carefully watching how the sports media were coming up with these storyline narratives because they didn’t want Nikola to win another award for whatever reason. Not the reason for this particular is how it showed how pitiful, shameful, and wrong how Joel won the award this past NBA season. When it came to Joel he was damn begging for the voters to give him the award over Nikola always pleading his case to win it while Nikola wasn’t even stressing about winning the award. Not saying that he didn’t want to win it, but he had his eye on the bigger prize which was the finals MVP along with winning w NBA championship for the Denver Nuggets leading his team to their first-ever championship in the franchise now out of all the things that happen to lead up to Joel Embiid winning the MVP which I have no problem with I just think that Nikola Jokic should’ve won, but I have no problem with Joel winning it’s the whole sports media narratives surrounding it was bad, but one particular issue I had with it was that idiot Kendrick Perkins going "First Take" saying the majority of the MVP voters are white and that they are purposely trying to give Nikola the award because he is white which is not true and Kendrick Perkins was roasted on social media for that horrible take and was proven wrong in the process showing that it was a good portion of black MVP voters on the ballot when making their decision on who was the NBA MVP winner. While that take was ludicrous it made head waves around the sports media which in a way helped Joel Embiid secure the award late in the season to edge past Nikola and win it. Now I’m not saying that despite all the sports media games Joel Embiid didn’t deserve it he had a great season overall, but you can argue that Nikola had just as impactful a season just like Embiid did during the season. Nonetheless, this was a sympathy MVP award for Joel Embiid based on multiple factors such as begging the voters to give him the award because he feels like he deserves it, the constant sports media attack on Nikola from sports analysis, and current and past NBA players that didn’t see the value in Jokić, and more importantly the flame out Joel had in playoffs against the Boston Celtics in a closeout game 7 to lose in a shameful devastating fashion to end his season, but at least he was able to win his pitiful sympathy NBA MVP award congratulations.
